Binfield is about fifteen minutes from Ascot, between Bracknell and Wokingham. Like Warfield next door, it has grown enormously in recent years, so a historic village centre now sits alongside a great deal of new estate housing.
The new stock brings its own work. The installations are certified and sound, but they are built to a specification rather than to how a family actually lives:
- Too few socket outlets, particularly in kitchens, bedrooms and home offices
- No outside power, and frequently no provision for charging a car
- Consumer units with few or no spare ways, which complicates every later addition
- Snagging left behind by volume housebuilding — a dead socket, a circuit that trips, an outside light never connected
The older property around the village is the opposite: character, and an installation that has been added to over decades without ever being planned as a whole.
What we're asked for most in Binfield
- Additional sockets and switches on newer properties
- EV charge points, with board capacity checked before quoting
- Outdoor power for garden rooms, garages and sheds
- Inspections and partial rewires on the older village stock
