Who we are
ESL Electricians is an independent electrical contractor based in Ascot, established 25 years ago and working across Berkshire and Surrey ever since.
We are City & Guilds qualified, NAPIT registered and F-Gas certified, having previously been NICEIC registered for over 15 years. Every job is carried out and certified to BS 7671, the current wiring regulations.
The F-Gas certification is worth a word, because it is unusual for an electrical contractor to hold it. It is the qualification required to work on refrigerant systems, which means air conditioning can be installed and serviced start to finish in house, rather than needing a refrigeration engineer and an electrician between them.
How we work
There is not much mystery to it, but a few things are worth stating plainly because they are the things customers mention.
- One point of contact. The person who quotes your job is the person who oversees it to completion. Whatever the size of the job, there is one person accountable for it, and you always know who that is.
- Resourced properly. Full rewires, multi-property portfolios and commercial installations are routine work for us. We put the right number of electricians on a job to get it done to programme, and every one of them is someone we have worked with for years.
- Priced before we start. Written quotes, and the price does not move unless the job does — and if it does, we tell you before doing the work, not after. We are not VAT registered, so the figure we quote is the figure you pay.
- Explained as we go. If something is wrong you get told what it is, why it matters, and what it will cost. Photographs where they help.
- Left as we found it. Dust sheets down, and the place cleared at the end of each day. It comes up in reviews more than anything else, which says something about the standard elsewhere.
- Certified. Test results and paperwork issued on completion, and notifiable work registered with building control.
The work we take on
Domestic and commercial, and the full range of it. Rewires and consumer units. Lighting, inside and out. Fault finding and emergency call-outs. EV chargers, air conditioning, outdoor power, security and CCTV. Testing and certification, including electrical safety certificates for landlords, house sales and homeowners who simply want to know where they stand.
No job is too big or too small. A number of long-standing customers started with one socket, and we are equally set up for a full house rewire, a landlord portfolio or a commercial installation.
Where we work
Based in Ascot and covering roughly half an hour in each direction — east Berkshire, north-west Surrey and just over the Hampshire border. That takes in Sunningdale, Sunninghill, Bracknell, Windsor, Wokingham and Maidenhead in Berkshire, Virginia Water, Egham, Bagshot, Windlesham, Camberley and Lightwater in Surrey, and Yateley in Hampshire.
